Dark Sky Discovery Days

Waterton's Only Dark Sky Festival

Welcome to Dark Sky Discovery Days

UPDATE - October 2025
Thank you to everyone who took part in the inaugural Dark Sky Discovery Days in 2025. The festival was a complete success and we are so grateful for your support, whether you were a presenter, a volunteer, or someone that attended part of the festival.

We're busy preparing for DSDD '26 and can't wait to welcome you back next year!

Please check back here in early 2026 for updates as they become available, but for now, mark your calendar for another exciting dark sky festival that will take place Sept/Oct-2026 (Dates TBA).

The Dark Sky Discovery Days is a three-day festival celebrating the beauty, mystery, and wonder of the night sky in Waterton Lakes National Park.

Set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Rocky Mountains, this community-based event blends science, storytelling, and stargazing — all inspired by the natural magic of the Aurora Borealis.
